BROOKLYN, NEW YORK —The creative periods of an artist are pivotal because they communicate where their mind and focus reside—a useful frame for experiencing a new perspective through their lens. Visual artist and creative pioneer Rah Crawford has teamed up with award-winning videographer’s Jordan Hollender (from HollenderX2) and Jason Tanaka Blaney to capture the conceptual essence of his new creative period NEO NOW as a short documentary.

”NEO NOW: A New Art Period” includes interviews with John Crain (Co-Founder and CEO of SuperRare) and Christian Bailey (Founding Principal of ODA Architecture), who weigh in on how blockchain and technology affect their industry and the future.

The film will premiere at the 11th Annual Bushwick Film Festival on October 13th at 12:00pm. Immediately following the film, a one hour panel made up of industry pros within entertainment, tech and the creative arts will discuss new blockchain technologies and its impact on the future of creators.

Panelist’s include:

Rah Crawford, Visual Artist + Creative Pioneer

Matthew Nacier (Moderator) Portfolio Director at Iconiq Lab

Manuela Seve  CEO and Co-Founder at Alpha'a inc

Kana Hatakeyama Actress (Orange is the New Black) Japan Content Manager at SingularDTV

G. Thomas Esmay Director of Business Development at SingularDTV

Rah Crawford’s NEO NOW creative period will focus on the immediacy of the emerging world, hyper-emotional states, blockchain technology, celebrity-ism and branded popular culture. These concepts will serve as the catalyst for his future works.

Crawford’s distinct visual artistic style will also evolve during his NEO NOW period and will expand his reach into sonic paintings as well as performance art. Crawford’s previous period Welcome to Earth (2004-2016), spanned over a decade as he introduced a new approach to art called NPIC-Art (Neoteric Pop-Iconic Clairvoyance). This approach to art uses the definition of words to add a new contextual layer to the image.
